An event would not be crowned successful if there are no or uninterested guests in attendance. Growing attendance for any event can be the most stressful & important part about of planning any event. To make your event planning a tad bit easier I have provided some tips to help bring your events to the next level.
Invite Early
Once your events date is set, you have the go ahead to invite guest. It may be too early to market but it’s never too early to invite guest. It’s also smart to set up social networking pages so targeted guest can have a place to find information about your events. Encourage interested participants to invite others; as you approach the date of your event, you can integrate it into your marketing strategy.
Early Bird Perks
Who doesn’t like perks? The goal of growing attendance is getting event participants to register early/RSVP. Ideas for early perks could be giving gift bags or event t-shirts to the first 100 registers; this will spark an interest in for your prospected event participants.
Charge or No Charge?
The toss up would be in participants that will attend the event. For an event that participants have to pay; you’ll find individuals who are truly interested in the event. While, if the event is free you may attract those who just want free food! (If it were a promotional event then I would NOT charge)
Niche Markets/Appropriate Marketing
There’s no need to waste time on marketing towards the wrong crowd. Targeting marketing will be beneficial in selecting the appropriate participants. It’s also important to conduct appropriate marketing. For example, if your event is targeted to elderly participants, it will be a waste of time to market mostly on social media.
Press Releases
To raise awareness for your event, the press release is a great tool. It’s important to release the press release to local, regional, and to national media. There are many online press release sources that you can use to digitally send out your events press release.
Growing attendance for your event is like growing a business. You must be dedicated and willing to spend excessive time in planning and marketing your event. I hope these tips help XOXO, TheMktgChic (Atiya)

Retail customers thrive on weekly or monthly promotions. There are 3 retail promotions that I believe are the worst because they can be defined as misleading. If your a small retail business owner I would stay clear of these promotions unless your able to fulfill the promises.
Marketing needs to be truthful and there are plenty of ways to play with words to lure customers in without lying (yes, consumers believe you’ve lied to them if the promotions are not clear). Which marketing promotions do you believe are the worst?
